Welcome to LEAP: Learning about pain

Register to access our accredited, interactive online learning platform, designed to improve the knowledge of healthcare professionals working in, or interested in, pain management.

There are currently four modules on the LEAP platform, each worth 1 CPD credit. Each module has been designed to take 60 minutes to complete including an assessment.

The module topics include:

  • Optimising communication between healthcare professionals and patients
  • Biopsychosocial pain management

 

As well as a comprehensive overview of:

  • Chronic low back pain
  • Neuropathic pain

Prof. Dr Bart Morlion

Belgium

Prof. Dr Bart Morlion is Head of the Leuven Centre for Algology at the University Hospitals Leuven, Belgium, and served as President of the European Pain Federation EFIC from 2017–2020. Prof. Dr Morlion has given more than 450 international and national invited lectures and seminars on pain management and clinical nutrition, and has authored a number of primary manuscripts, reviews, books and book sections.

His professional interests include all aspects of multimodal pain management, analgesics and quality management. His clinical research focuses on the pharmacological treatment of chronic pain and organisational aspects of multidisciplinary pain management. He also teaches pain management, pharmacology and evidence-based medicine at Katholieke Universiteit (KU) Leuven, Belgium.
